“The almond that started a category. Sweet, salted-buttery, and the reason the airport snack aisle has a Korean section now.”

THE STORY
HBAF (originally Tom's Farm) launched the honey butter almond in 2014, riding the wave of the 'honey butter' flavor that started with potato chips. Within two years it had jumped from supermarket shelves to airport duty-free, and by the late 2010s it was the single most-bought Korean snack by tourists leaving Incheon. The formula is simple: California almonds, real butter, honey, a fine salt finish — but the seasoning ratio is hard to match, which is why the originals still outsell the dozens of imitators. Sweet enough to feel like a snack, savory enough to keep eating, addictive in the way good things are. The 250g bag is the right size to share, the wrong size to eat alone in one sitting (don't ask).
